Orange Island is the conceptualisation of the Lagos State Government’s goal to reorganise and restructure the Lagos Mega City. It will be one of the new satellite towns that will be developed in the Lekki, Badagry and Ikorodu districts of Lagos State over the next few years. To this end a Memorandum of Understanding between Lagos State Government and FW Dredging (Sponsors of the project) was signed in January 2013 and a joint venture agreement between FW Dredging, Orange Island Development Company and the Lagos State Government signed on 9th January 2014.
Orange Island Development Company is a special purpose company, formed for the purpose of owning, developing and operating the project.

2.0 WHERE IS IT LOCATED?


Orange Island will be located about 1 kilometers from Lekki Phase 1 headland next to the on-going Lekki Foreshore reclamation project. It is easily accessible via Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1and Freedom Way, off the Third roundabout of the Lekki/Epe Expressway.

3.0 WHO ARE THE DEVELOPERS?


The company responsible for roll out and management of Orange Island is the Orange Island Development Company (OIDC). A special purpose vehicle set up specifically for this purpose. The sponsors behind the project are FW Dredging Company.
FW Dredging Limited: FW Dredging Limited is one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous dredging companies. FW Dredging has been involved in some of the largest and most comp plex dredging projects in Nigeria. The company was involved in the massive reclamation of land for the construction of Yenagoa the capital city of Bayelsa State in the oil rich Niger-Delta region of Nigeria, The company was also major contractor for the complex dredging works required to create the largest man-made lakes at Lakowe Golf Estate and also the lake at Adiva Estate, Lekki in Lagos, Nigeria.

FW Dredging Limited has become the leading Nigerian brand in deep swamp engineering; specializing in the dredging for lakes, sweeping of channels and waterways; reclamation and sand filling for construction and shoreline protection. 4.0 WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE?

Serviced plots of land in different sizes are available to the general public and developers. There will be plots allocated for residential and commercial uses. Lagoon view plots will be available for both residential and commercial developments.

5.0 WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL?

Upon receipt of an application for refund not later than three (3) months from the date of first payment an amount equal to 20% of deposit shall be retained by OIDC and this amount shall be deducted from the deposit paid before the balance of the same is returned to you after re-sale of the plot.

6.0 WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I GET ON PAYMENT OF FIRST INSTALMENT?

A Payment Receipt and Contract of Sale document will be prepared for every subscriber on payment of the first installment.

7.0 WHEN CAN I SEE MY LAND?

The reclamation is completed and land allocation will be done, however you can inspect the island by calling our sales officers to book an appointment and collect an access tag.

8.0 WHAT CAN I BUILD ON MY LAND?

The Orange Island Building Codes and Design Manual as well as LASG Planning and Development Control Guidelines will govern what subscribers can build on their plots. The documents will explain guidelines for the building foot print, car parking requirements, setbacks, colour palette, number of floors and landscaping requirements amongst others.
